A photograph of a devastated field hospital and camp at Arles in France, in the wake of German shelling during the First World War. Andrew James Hutton, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, was stationed at the hospital. He was one of many Glasgow surgeons who served in France during the war.
