A view of the University of Glasgow looking west from Park Gate on Woodlands Hill, c 1910. The street was laid out 1857-1859 and bisects the curve of Park Terrace and Park Quadrant. In 1916 a statue of Field Marshall Earl Roberts (1832-1914) was unveiled at the flagpole, overlooking the park.
