Wallace & Weir Overcoat

The "Moorland" overcoat, illustrated in the Walwer styles overcoats catalogue for the winter of 1939-1940 issued by Wallace & Weir, 26 Argyle Street, manufacturers of men's and boy's clothing.

Prices for the "Moorland" overcoat, and for the "Blythswood" coat, ranged from 47 shillings (£2.35) for size 24 to 70 shillings (£3.50) for size 38. This was for the standard grade SX, which was described as "Collar sewn by hand, incorporating under collar baisted on and felled by hand, outer collar seams drawn on top by hand. Lined good quality art silk."
