Alexander Wallace

Alexander Wallace was the minister of East Campbell Street United Presbyterian Church.

As a child Wallace worked for a weaver as a "drawboy" but went on to study at the University of Glasgow. He was minister of a number of UP churches before moving to East Campbell Street in 1863.

A confirmed teetotaller, a revivalist and a keen traveller, Wallace died in 1890 after an attack of whooping cough.
