Charabanc

A charabanc tour at Crianlarich.

This nineteen-seater Viking charabanc (or motor coach) was built by the Albion Motor Car Co of Scotstoun. It was purchased by Sanderson Brothers of Glasgow and was photographed at Crianlarich while on tour to Taymouth Castle in June 1924. Although the charabanc had a windscreen and a folding roof to keep off rain, the sides of the vehicle were not not glazed and so the passengers are wrapped up in warm clothes in spite of the time of year.

Charabanc trips were very popular in the 1920s, and many firms organised days out for their staff.
